A Little Boy Meets the Cowboy Doctor

Twenty years ago, a little boy had his name, Anthony, who moved to Dallas, Texas with his parents from his old hometown Los Angeles, California. He was very disappointed at his parents after he saw the old, messy, dirty house and a red barn in front of him. There’s a reason he doesn’t want to live in that house because it can be very horror and dangerous to him because he missed his old hometown with the beautiful cities, mountains, and trees. He still thought about his friends in California. He was wondered what did they do without him.

At the afternoon, he doesn’t know how to ignore the people who gave him the bad attitude when he was walking through the coward in the different stores with his parents. He might had got a panic attack as he looked up and found the man who stood and leaned against the door frame. He felt little scared because he stared at that man’s dark blue eyes. He called him that name “Cold Man”. Therefore, he loved to give anyone the pet names. Before he had left, he made sure that he remembered Cold Man’s height, weight, face, and body.

During the night, he sat on the wooden chair on the front porch. His parents cleaned each rooms in their house. He wished to move back to California, but he must accepted that he would be patient for his parents. He was very curiously about the horses in a red barn because his father loved to ride one of three or four horses in long time ago. He got up and walked to that barn. He opened the big door and peeked a little bit as he saw one of four horses eating the hay behind the stall. He checked the name plates on each stalls, Snow, Thunder, Charlie, and Tommy. He guessed that big brown horse had a name, Charlie. He walked slowly toward him, but he accidently kicked the shovel. Charlie looked up from the hay to Anthony as a big brown horse confused at a little boy. He felt worried and scared, so he ran away from Charlie and that barn.

Next morning, he sat on the edge of his bed and thought about Charlie a lot. He wanted to ride that horse, but he already knew that his parents would disapproved his offer. However, he decided to sneak before his parents could noticed. There’s a reason he didn’t like his parents’ rules because his parents always worried about his safety and healthy. After he sneaked away from his parents, he went to a barn and checked on Charlie. He saw him standing in the stall. He opened the door and got on a big brown horse. Suddenly, Charlie ran fast outside as a little boy shouted loudly and held his mane tightly. His father opened the front door fast and saw him getting on Charlie. Anthony can’t hold that horse’s mane enough as he was flying in the air. His father tried to catch him on the time, but he crashed on the ground loudly. He cried and held his broken right arm because he saw the blood spreading. His mother called the hospital for an emergency, so a woman whom on the phone told her that an ambulance van was on the way to their house. Few minutes later, an ambulance van arrived as two paramedics came out of that van and carried a little boy on the stretcher. They left after his parents got in their car to follow them.

At the hospital, few nurses moved Anthony laying on the stretcher to the x-ray room. They must take a picture of his broken bones and left it on the desk for the doctor. They moved him to the patient room for an hour. His parents stayed with him and waited for the doctor coming. After the doctor checked the x-ray, he wore the cowboy boots and bought a banjo to the patient room. Anthony shocked and saw Cold Man out of blue. His doctor smiled and told them his name, Oscar Smith; everyone called them Dr. Smith or Cowboy Doctor. He felt embarrassed to call the doctor with an idea name Cold Man. However, he would call him the Cowboy Doctor or Dr. Smith in present. There’s a reason he didn’t like to call anyone with stupid names.
